5 Small Website Tweaks That Can Double Your Inquiries

Your website isn’t just an online portfolio, it is how you represent yourself to galleries, clients, future employers, and even buyers. Many creatives unknowingly make small mistakes that keep visitors from reaching out. The good news is that a few simple tweaks can turn passive visitors into interactive and long term followers.

Here are five quick changes you can make today to boost interaction from your website.

1. Make Your Contact Info Impossible to Miss

Don’t make people hunt for your email or phone number! Place a clear “Contact” button in your menu, link it in your footer, and consider adding a short contact form right on your homepage. People have short attention spans - if it takes too long to figure out how to contact you, they won't.

2. Use Headlines That Speak to Your Audience

Instead of “Welcome to My Website,” try a headline that tells visitors exactly what you do and why they should care—like “Branding & Design Support for Creative Professionals.” If you are an artist - put the type of art you do right up front. Not only will this help visitors understand who you are immediately, it will also help with SEO and attracting unique visitors to your site.

3. Show Proof You’re Worth Hiring

Include testimonials, before-and-after examples, or mini case studies. Creatives want to know you get their world, so show them real results. I recently started by creative services business and I wanted to have testimonials on my homepage so I reached out to several artists and businesses who I have been working with and requested 1-2 sentences describing their experience working with me. They were all happy to oblige and it really helps you not only see the impact you have on the people you work with (ego boost!), but others can see that impact as well.

4. Make It Mobile-Friendly

Over 60% of web traffic comes from phones! Sometimes it is higher. Recently I was looking at the stats for a gallery client and I noticed that nearly 80% of their traffic was coming from mobile. Test your site on different devices to make sure your text is readable, images are sharp, and buttons are easy to click. Website builders like Wix not only allow you to view your mobile site, but you can adjust it for mobile viewing. The layout on the mobile view is stacked and sometimes requires a different layout to make sure the information is clear and effective.

5. Add a Clear Call-to-Action (CTA)

End each page with an invitation to take the next step—whether that’s booking a consultation, signing up for a newsletter, or downloading a free resource. If you are an artist, simply link to your About, Portfolio, or Contact pages. Make sure your pages interact and link back to each other, giving viewers more options to navigate your site.
